Why act

Dark concrete tiles, hot rooms below.

They store heat

Concrete tiles soak up the sun and radiate it down into the attic and the floors below.

They turn porous

Over the years, concrete tiles weather, go porous and grow moss.

The rooms below cop it

Under an exposed roof, the attic and the top floors get hard to use in summer.

A reflective roof coating treats the tiles and cools them down — no major work.

The CovaTherm solution

Your tiles reflect the sun instead of storing it.

On a concrete tile roof, the CovaTherm reflective coating goes on porous substrates. It bounces the sun back, drops the temperature in the rooms below, and protects the tiles — no tile removal.

The system

  • Clean and treat the moss
  • CovaTherm reflective coating
  • Solar lacquer on glazed openings if needed

What you gain

Cooler rooms below, a protected roof.

Up to 8 to 10°C cooler under the roof, from the first summer.

Cooler rooms below

Cooler rooms below

The tiles stop radiating their heat, so the rooms below are comfortable again come summer.

Protected tiles

Protected tiles

The coating guards the tiles against moisture, moss and UV.

A fresh look

A fresh look

The roof gets a clean, even finish — no tile replacement.

No major work

No major work

Applied from the ground, with no tile removal and no major job.

The smart investment

Cool the rooms below without redoing the roof.

As long as the tiles are sound, a reflective roof coating takes the heat out and protects the covering — no major work.

Weigh it against insulation if winter comfort is also at stake

A reflective coating handles summer heat, not insulation.

What it works on

Built for concrete tile, a porous substrate.

Concrete tile is porous and needs careful prep: we assess the covering, treat the moss and lichen, and clean the surface before the reflective coating goes on.

How it goes on

It all happens from the ground, safely.

FAQ

Your questions, our answers.

Cooler rooms below without major work.

CovaTherm reflects the sun, protects concrete tiles and improves summer comfort without removing the covering.

Fast technical replyNo tile removalNo commitment

Tout comprendre sur le sujet.

Concrete tile covers a lot of pitched roofs on commercial, public and residential buildings. It stores heat and weathers over time.

Why a concrete tile roof runs hot

Concrete tile is dense. It banks the sun all day and slowly bleeds it back down into the rooms below.

How a reflective roof coating works on concrete tiles

A reflective coating bounces the sun back instead of storing it. CovaTherm grips porous substrates once they are cleaned and the moss is treated.

Reflective tile roof coating or a full renovation

As long as the tiles are sound, a reflective coating at €20-25/m² protects the covering and cools the rooms below for a fraction of the cost.

A principle backed by research

By lifting solar reflectance (and SRI), a reflective surface sends back the radiation dark tiles would soak up, cutting the heat that reaches the rooms below.

Protection that lasts

The CovaTherm system is built to last 8 to 10 years while protecting the tiles.
