Sound sheeting taking the heat

STEEL-DECK ROOF COATING
Cool your steel-deck roof by 8 to 10°C and stop the rust — no need to replace the sheeting.

Why act
A dark metal sheet gets blazing hot in the sun and dumps that heat inside almost instantly.
At overlaps, fasteners and wherever the factory paint wears thin, rust spreads and goes after the waterproofing.
Temperature swings stress the sheeting and drive condensation on the inside.
One treatment can take on heat and rust at the same time.

The Covalba solution
On a steel-deck roof, CovaMetal 20 goes on as a reflective anti-corrosion coating: it shields the metal from rust while bouncing the sun back. A CovaTherm topcoat caps the system for reflectivity that lasts.
What you gain
Up to 8 to 10°C cooler under the roof, from the first summer.

The sheeting stops dumping its heat inside. The space under the steel deck is bearable again come summer.

The metal is protected, existing rust is treated, and it stops spreading.

Treat the rust and the heat, and you push the roof replacement back by years.

On air-conditioned buildings, the cooling units work less.
The smart move
As long as the metal stays sound, a reflective anti-corrosion treatment protects, cools, and saves you a heavy tear-off.

Rust starting
CovaMetal 20 + CovaTherm topcoat
Rust and heat treated in one pass, sheeting given more years.

Up-front study
Treat the cause before the surface.
A technical check looks at the metal, the fasteners and the first signs of rust, then quotes a treatment that protects and cools in one pass.

What we work on
The system works on steel-deck roofs and cladding, bare, galvanized or pre-painted. It starts with a look at the metal and the rust spots. We treat the rust locally, then lay CovaMetal 20 before the reflective topcoat.
Metal condition, rust, detail points, thermal targets.
Clean and treat the rust spots.
CovaMetal 20 then topcoat, sprayed from the ground.
Quality check and long-term follow-up.
Machinery stays on the ground, nothing on the roof. No risk to the structure or the waterproofing, done by a trained, equipped crew.

FAQ
CovaMetal 20 treats the rust and drops the heat reaching the building, with no covering to remove.
Steel deck makes up a big share of industrial, logistics and commercial roofs and cladding. Light and cheap, it has two well-known weaknesses: it conducts heat and it rusts.
Metal is a great conductor. Under the sun, a dark metal sheet heats up fast and passes that heat inside with almost no lag. The heat-condensation cycle then speeds up the rust.
CovaMetal 20 goes on as a reflective anti-corrosion coating that shields the metal while bouncing the sun back, then a CovaTherm topcoat for reflectivity that lasts.
Replacing a steel-deck covering is a heavy job. A reflective coating costs a fraction of that, goes on without stopping operations, and adds years to the existing covering.
A reflective coating protects sound metal or metal in the early stages of rust; it cannot save sheeting that is rusted through. Those sheets have to be swapped out before treatment.
Reflective surfaces are well backed by research labs. On a large, heavily exposed steel-deck roof, that shows up directly as comfort and savings.
On metal, how long the coating holds up is everything. The CovaMetal 20 system and its CovaTherm topcoat are built to protect and reflect for 8 to 10 years.
