FLAT ROOF COATING
Cool your flat roof by 8 to 10°C and lock down its waterproofing — no full re-roof needed.

Why act
A flat roof takes the full force of the sun from morning to night. It is the hottest surface on the building.
Heat, UV and standing water wear down a flat roof's waterproofing. The detail points are the first to give.
Under a roof that runs hot, the top floors get hard to live in come summer, and the AC runs flat out.
One solution can cool the roof and shore up its waterproofing.

The Covalba solution
On a flat roof, CovaSeal 20 is a liquid-applied reflective waterproofing: it reinforces the existing seal while bouncing the sun back. If the substrate is already fully watertight, the CovaTherm system is enough to cool it.
What you gain
8 to 10°C cooler under the roof, from the first summer.

The roof stops radiating its heat downward, so the spaces below are comfortable again.

CovaSeal 20 strengthens the existing seal and locks down the weak spots.

You put off a heavy, costly re-roof by several years.

On air-conditioned buildings, cooling demand drops.
The right call
As long as the structure holds up, a liquid-applied reflective coating reinforces and cools without redoing the whole roof.

Aging waterproofing, no leaks
CovaSeal 20
Reinforces the seal and cools for about a quarter of what re-roofing costs.
Active leaks
Fix the detail points, then CovaSeal 20 — or re-roof if it is too far gone
We seal the leak first; the coating never goes over an active leak.
Not enough insulation
A reflective coating for summer, weighed against a full re-roof if insulation is the issue
A reflective coating handles summer heat, not insulation.
A site visit walks the upstands, drains and ponding areas, so you can choose between CovaSeal 20, CovaTherm or a heavier repair.

What we work on
The system goes on flat roofs with an asphalt membrane, a synthetic membrane or a waterproofed concrete substrate. It starts with a look at the waterproofing, the upstands, the drains and the ponding areas.
Waterproofing condition, detail points, ponding, thermal targets.
Clean and repair the weak spots.
CovaSeal 20 or CovaTherm, sprayed from outside the building.
Quality check and monitoring over time.
Machinery stays at the foot of the building, nothing on the roof. No risk to the structure or the waterproofing when a trained, equipped crew does the work.

FAQ
CovaSeal 20 reinforces the existing waterproofing and drops the heat under the roof, applied from outside with no downtime.
The flat roof is the most sun-exposed setup there is. It bundles two problems: the building runs hot, and the waterproofing has to last.
A flat roof faces the sun head-on for most of the day. The surface, often dark, can pass 80°C in summer, and that heat drops straight to the floors below.
A reflective coating bounces radiation back instead of soaking it up. On a flat roof, CovaSeal 20 is often the pick: it reinforces the waterproofing and cools in one pass.
New waterproofing runs €80 to €100/m², and up to €150/m² with insulation. A reflective coating comes in around €20 to €25/m².
Waterproofing still in place but worn, with no reported leak, is the sweet spot for CovaSeal 20.
On a flat roof — the most exposed surface on the building — a reflective coating is at the top of its game.
The CovaSeal 20 and CovaTherm systems are built to last 8 to 10 years.
